With operational oversight delegated from the CEO, met bi-weekly with all regional leaders and ran quarterly reviews with them focused on P&L delivery, existing clients’ growth, new business development and commercial excellence. As a result, H&K saw the highest net sales growth rate in two decades (in 2021 & 2022) and EBITDA margin increase of 6pp to a new level that has been maintained since 2020 Operational excellence: Delivered operational improvements across revenue generation, financial planning, process optimization, client management, business development and employee relations topics AI transformation: Developed methodology to assess short- and medium-term impact of implementing AI tools on H&K cost structure and staffing levels (subsequently rolled out at other agencies across WPP). Identified key use cases for AI tools deployment and embedded them in standard workflows. Tested ways to increase employee adoption via market-wide AI pilot in Germany. Designed changes to Hill & Knowlton’s operating model to futureproof the organization (new pricing models, new talent profiles for new hires, career progression model) AI product development: Partnered with H&K's CTO to develop new AI-powered products, develop business cases for them and secure funding from the CEO. Negotiated and signed AI-focused commercial partnerships for a leading misinformation monitoring product (t.ly/12tHB) Finance: Oversaw budgeting, financial reporting, investment analysis, FP&A, led 200 FTE finance team Strategy: Led H&K's strategy development and execution efforts, including change management, transformation programs, 5-year strategic plan creation and investment planning Merger integration: Led integration effort for Hill & Knowlton in the process of merging with BCW to form Burson (t.ly/szqUe), a PR & Communications industry leader with ~$1B in net sales. Offered one of only four retention bonuses extended across both organizations (6,500 employees) M&A: Led corporate development with end-to-end acquisition process of JeffreyGroup in US/Latin America (t.ly/Z9-d) and 3K in Germany (t.ly/mPA0) and designed and led post-merger integration at these companies Risk management: Developed Assignment Acceptance Framework for WPP – a simple and structured process that helps all WPP agencies maintain high ethical standards while mitigating risk when taking on new clients Restructuring: Delivered ~$20M in annualized savings (~5pp operating margin increase) through a restructuring program supported by cost benchmarking, offshoring, software license rationalization and footprint optimization Organizational design: Redesigned company structure into a matrix organized around geographical markets and sector/capability practices, resulting in greater practice accountability and increased revenue growth rates (several percentage points above historical rates in the first 2 years after implementation) Clients: Developed client prioritization algorithm based on publicly available information and client teams’ input to identify high-growth potential clients, informing business development and client growth strategies Management practices: Led development of executive dashboards (in Power BI) and programs aimed at improving employees’ project management skills and adopting a “bias to action” attitude
